About the Role:
PTC is looking for a Product Analyst / Junior SRE & Observability Engineer to join the Atlas Platform Engineering team. You will work on observability, SRE principles, and cloud-based monitoring, supporting R&D and product teams to improve system visibility, automation, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain observability standards and best practices.
- Expand the observability stack across clouds, regions, and clusters.
- Implement monitoring solutions for complex distributed systems.
- Develop clear, informative dashboards for improved system visibility.
- Automate monitoring, alerting processes, and anomaly detection.
- Support definition of SLIs and SLOs for Atlas services.
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis (RCAs).
- Collaborate with R&D and product teams to connect business and technical outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
People & Communication:
- Strong team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset.
- Curiosity about system architecture and processes.
Technical – General:
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (ideally Azure).
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and Istio architectures.
- Proficiency in programming/debugging (Bash, Python, Golang).
- Interest in DevOps and SRE principles.
Technical – Observability & SRE:
- Understanding observability principles (metrics, logs, traces).
- Experience with unified observability platforms.
- Knowledge of Google SRE principles, SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and emergency response.
- Experience with incident response and toil reduction.
